NZI Rural Women NZ Business Awards 2023: Category Award Winners Announced
Rural Women New Zealand (RWNZ) and Premier Partner NZI are delighted to announce the Category Award winners in this year’s NZI Rural Women NZ Business Awards.
“This year’s entrants presented the judges with some incredibly difficult decisions in selecting a winner in many categories as the calibre of entries soared yet again,” says RWNZ National President, Gill Naylor.
“The range of enterprises represented across the seven Award Categories is a real testament to the innovative entrepreneurism found in rural and regional Aotearoa New Zealand.”
“The Award Categories have been designed to embrace the diversity of enterprises owned and operated by rural women. However, we often find that these Awards are a real bell weather of the growth of particular sectors across the country.”
“This year we have seen a phenomenal growth in agri-tourism businesses and, as rural connectivity improves, significant growth in bespoke retail enterprises operating through the power of e-commerce from remote locations.”
“One of the most significant aspects of these Awards is the role that our entrant’s enterprises play is strengthening, supporting and connecting their local communities. These businesses support local suppliers and employ local people which ultimately creates stronger, more resilient rural economies,” says Mrs Naylor.
“NZI has been a proud partner of Rural Women New Zealand and these business awards for many years now. Being part of the judging panel was a huge privilege for me as behind every entry was an inspiring story of a talented businesswoman working hard, making a difference, and giving back to their community,” says Kerrie Lawrence, EM Business Operations & Governance for NZI.
“The judging process is always difficult given the high calibre of our finalists and category winners, and it was an honour to hear these stories firsthand.”
“Congratulations to all our winners and we look forward to celebrating your success at the upcoming awards evening in November.”
The Awards Ceremony will be held on Friday, 24 November during the RWNZ National Conference in Christchurch. Following presentations to the Category Winners, one will be announced as the NZI Supreme Award Winner for 2023.
These Awards would not be possible without our Award Sponsors. Thank you to the Ministry for Primary Industries, Alltech, Access Community Health, Jarden Partners Limited, Havana Coffee Works, Marks & Worth Lawyers & IP Specialists and the Ministry for Women.
