Rural Women New Zealand is committed to protecting the privacy of the personal information you provide. We deal with this information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020 and this privacy statement.

This privacy policy sets out how RWNZ collects, stores, uses and shares any personal information that you provide to us. This policy also explains how you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you or complain about any suspected privacy breach.

RWNZ may occasionally update this privacy statement to reflect changes in our practices and will note the date of any updates on this page. You are encouraged to check this page from time to time to ensure that you are aware of any changes. This statement was last updated in June 2021.

  • We only collect personal information where this is necessary to carry out our functions or where you have requested a service or product that requires this information. This information may include your:

    • First & last name.

    • Contact information including email address.

    • Other information relevant to surveys and/or offers.

    • Demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests and experiences.

  • Cookies may be used on our website. Most internet browsers are set to accept cookies. If you prefer not to receive them, you can adjust your internet browser to reject cookies, or to notify you when they are being used. Rejecting cookies can, however, limit the functionality of the website.

    Rural Women NZ may enable Google Analytics demographics and interest reporting functionality available through Google Analytics. You can find out more from Google.com.

  • We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. You can also help to protect the privacy of your personal information by keeping passwords secret and by ensuring that you log out of the website when you have completed your transaction. If you become aware of any security breach, please contact the Rural Women NZ office as soon as possible.

    We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so.

    You are able to access your personal information that we hold, except as provided for in the Act.

  • If you believe that any information, we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please write to or email us as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.

    If you are a member, you are also able to view and update your information through the members-only section of the website.

  • We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

    • Access to personal information collected by RWNZ is restricted to staff, contractors and designated volunteers who require this information to provide our services.
