Have your say on NZ Post proposed changes
Rural Women New Zealand is concerned at the impact that recently proposed changes to postal services could have on rural families, communities and businesses.
The proposed changes that will impact rural communities include:
Reducing minimum delivery frequency from 5 days per week in rural areas, to 3 days per week.
Reducing the minimum number of postal outlets nationwide from 880 down to as low as 400 over time.
Giving NZ Post the option to deliver to communal collection points instead of individual mailboxes for new addresses and to convert mailbox deliveries into communal collection points at a rate of up to five percent per year.
