Who we’re looking for:
We’re looking to encourage residents of Hawke’s Bay to undertake further education or training in land-based courses, either through university or polytechnic institutes. Bursary recipients will ideally seek employment in the Hawke’s Bay area to ensure that the benefits of their learning can be passed on to the Hawke’s Bay community and its industries.
Eligibility criteria:
- NZ Citizen
- Available for tertiary students who are studying fulltime and who have completed their first year of study
- Applicants must live within the district boundaries of Wairoa, Napier, Hastings or Central Hawkes Bay
- The course of study should be in the agricultural or horticultural fields, e.g. agriculture, aqua-farming, beekeeping, horticulture, silviculture, veterinary or viticulture
- Applicants will be required to attend an interview

a letter outlining the reasons you require this financial assistance, the reasons for your course of study (or proposed course of study) and your intended use of the qualification.

copies of your previous relevant qualifications, results, or an academic reference.

a profile outlining past achievements, proposed study programme, educational goals and long term objectives.

two written references including contact details for referees.

proof of enrolment at the University or Polytechnic where the studies will be undertaken.
