Guild of Agricultural Journalists Award

While journalism around the world has become a shrinking profession, we are well served in New Zealand by rural journalists and media outlets focusing on our primary industries and rural communities, ensuring we are kept well informed on business, social and environmental issues.

To encourage journalism about the role women play in the rural sector, Rural Women NZ sponsors an award through the NZ Guild of Agricultural Journalists each year.

This year’s winner, announced at the Guild’s annual awards dinner recently, is Sonita Chandar, who writes for NZ Farmer. Read one of the winning stories she submitted.
