Day of the Girl Speak OutAugust 5, 2013 10:50 pm
Do you know a girl or group of girls in your community aged 18 or younger who have launched an inspiring project to improve the lives of other girls? Or, are you a girl aged 18 or younger and fall into this category? The Working Group on Girls has launched a Girls’ Speak Out at the United Nations.
The event will provide a space for girls to engage with governments and the United Nations about your local community project and share how this work can be better supported by governments and agencies. It will be held on 11 October, on the International Day of the Girl.
- be a girl (or group of girls) 18 years of age or younger;
- have the resources to participate on October 11 by video or in person;
- and be currently working on an activism project in your community.
This is an inspiring day for all girls! If you know someone who is perfect for this day, please encourage them to apply. You can download the application form here. To find out more about the Day of the Girl Speak Out, visit the Working Group on Girls website.
