Rural Women New Zealand (RWNZ) congratulates KPMG on the 2019 Agribusiness Agenda Report and fully supports their continued advocacy for a more holistic future of farming.
“RWNZ wholeheartedly supports the work that Ian Proudfoot and his team have put into the 2019 KPMG Agribusiness Agenda Report and we are especially pleased that the report acknowledges the important role women play in rural communities and businesses,” says National President, Fiona Gower.
“We also agree that creating a climate of well being in our communities remains a priority that needs to be addressed, because New Zealand, as the report states, ‘can’t afford to continue to be home to one of the world’s most unhealthy communities.’
“We know New Zealand produces healthy food, and to maintain credibility with our overseas markets, we need to demonstrate this in our communities.
“RWNZ agrees with the importance of acknowledging farmers and growers as a vital part in producing healthy, high quality food.
“As consumers become more invested in what they are buying, the connection they have with producers is crucial, giving farmers an opportunity to tell their unique food story,” says Ms Gower.
